Multiple communication options that are powerful - and intuitive:

  • Children can switch seamlessly from nearly 2,500 intuitively organized and fully customizable phrases to precise word selection or spelling keyboards for more specific communication.
  • Pop-up keyboard and key phrase bank is always available, so individuals can spell or say what they need, then head right back to where they were.

More technological innovation:

  • It's the first device to incorporate a built-in digital camera, so a communicator can capture experience in real time.
  • Imagine coming home from the zoo with not only language, but photos.
  • With the Tango you can record your voice and then morph it into the voice of a child.

Multiple access methods:

  • The Tango provides multiple methods of access for optimizing usage.
  • The Tango's highly robust scanning options include one- and two-switch scanning, audio scanning, as well as scanning patterns for a variety of abilities.
  • The Tango features multiple methods for mounting, so it can be used on a wheelchair, desk, lap, or when walking.
  • Two key guards are available, so users can select optimum sizes for openings which help guide one's fingers.
  • The Tango's six button structure and its ergonomics are designed to maximize efficiency of movement for everyone, direct-selectors and scanners alike. This means many people may actually be able to switch from scanning to direct selecting.

Introducing Language Streams:

so you can build sentences and relationships.

  • The Tango features an innovative language structure that brings together powerful insights from the world of mass communication with deep knowledge from the country's leading experts on literacy for special needs individuals.
  • We call the structure "Language Streams."
  • This "phrase first" organization features streams of phrases, words, and core vocabulary, so individuals can flow easily between communication strategies.
  • It's the best of all worlds.
  • You have access to a vast library of pre-recorded and customizable phrases, digitally enhanced for maximum comprehension and quick, personality-filled exchanges.

Three things you can do on the Tango Right out of the box!

  • Share an experience or memory:
    • Use our built-in camera to create a photo album.
    • Record phrases for each photo.
    • Use voice morphing to create a unique child's voice.
    • Or use a keyboard and synthesize your speech.
    • When you get back to your family or friends, share experiences with new personality, energy and emotion.
  • Get dressed and enjoy communication:
    • Navigate to the "Dressing" Talk Topic.
    • Discover 72 powerful phrases organized by communication intent. You'll be able to make requests, make comments, and ask questions with quick bursts of communication.
    • Use any or all of the 60 additional words that expand the ability to be specific: articles of clothing, verbs, and adjectives to describe everything from scratchy to loose.
    • Access a keyboard and streams of core vocabulary if you want to write complete sentences.
    • In short, you can have as much flexibility choosing your style of communication as you do choosing your clothing.
  • Tell someone what you're really feeling!
    • Go to the Yakkety Yak pop-up, featuring quick and constant access to over 200 phrases you'll want to use over and over. (Don't worry: if you don't like one of our choices, you can change it in less than a minute.)
    • Choose the Emotions topic.
    • Tell someone you're mad at them.
    • If they don't listen, hit the "Voice" pop-up, hit "Shout," and yell it like you mean it!
